RICHMOND.
The following-'is the monthly report of the Richmond School: —
The .head master's report showed the roll number to bp* 784, with an average attendance of 692. Miss K. Newton, assistant infant mistress, had applied for six months' leave of-abfience, owing to ill-health, and it was. decided to request the board to appoint Miss Bussell to the vacancy. It was decided to hold the annual picnic at the New Brighton Bacecourse on or about the second week in February next, the chairman and secretary bejng empowered to make all arrangements. The Works Committee reported that the alteration to the bath had been' completed,, and that the work, which had been done by day labour, was highly satisfactory.' The balance sheet in connection withvtJie bath showed that- .the expenditure; vwas £39 .4/10, £ls 6/1 ,6f •which had been met by public subscriptions-
It was decided to request the board, to appoint-an assistant mistress in lieu of two .pupil teachers. It was also decided to donate the sum of £1 3/ towards the prize fund of the Technical' College.
