COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.
The election of five councillor's for the Rangiora riding of the Rangiora County took place yesterday, and the result of the poll was as follows:F. Horrell 293, W. Stalker 269, A. Mcintosh 262, H. Garrett 235, M. H. Stokes 2HI, J. G. Doak 113, B. W. Frazev 92. The first five candidates, who were the retiring councillors, were declared elected.
The poll for the election of four councillors for the 'Loburn-Whiterock riding of the Ashley County held yesterday resulted as., follows: —J. Joyce 111, J. S. Hiatt 94, J. Wilson 955, G. G. I'hilpott 71, I. F. Croft 60, M. Fit/.gibbon 50. The first, four candidates were declared elected.
The returns for the Eyre county elections were as follow: —Dixon 278, .Evans 216, Ward 192, Lindsay 176 (elected), Wright 172, Williams 164, Skevingtoii l.'iO, informal 10.
