THE THEATRES.

HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "The-Inspector's Story," a pathetic photo-drama, is the principal item at His Majesty's Theatre. The subject talies the form of a story of how a< little girl's troubles are brought about through the intemperance of her father.

There are most interesting depictions of the war in the '' Gaumont Graphic,'' and a special film showfc the battle before Antwerp. A local topical shows the motor, racing at Brighton, while other entertaining films include: —"The Big Game Hunt," a trick comedy; "Ani <;ient Egypt," a scenic; "The Davis Cup," a* film which all tennis players should see; and "Max on the Briny" arouses the risible faculties, as does * 'the Yitagraph production, "Fanny's Melodrama." The programme wilj be repeated to-night.

GLOBE THEATRE. . • The current programme at the Globe Theatre contains two star dramas, "The Tudor Princess" and "The Open Gate," both of which are excellent studies. Supporting pictures are:— "Modes of Travel in Japan," scenic; "The Australian Gazette," topical; "Rebecca.'s Wedding," Keystone farce; while, in addition, there are special war studies and pictures *of the motor racing on Brighton beach. The programme will be presented finally this Evening.' SYDENHAM PICTURES. There was a large attendance at the Sydenham Picture Theatre last evening, ■when ; " The Inspector's Story,'' star . drama, was successfully presented, as •were the various, supporting studies, . which go to make up a programme of general excellence. The series will be screened for the last time this evening. COLOSSEUM. "The Shattered Tree," feature drama, at the Colosseum is an extremely "interesting study, set forth by capable photography and acting; Supporting studies comprise:—"The Path 6 Gazette,'" war topical; "The Sacred City of Benares,'' scenic; "The Man with the Glove," drama; "Pickles, Ant, and Sauerkraut,'' comedy; "The Manufacture of Incandescent Lamps,'' industrial study; and "The Sky Pilot," Keystone farce. In addition, there are studies showing war pictures and pictures of Saturday's motor racing at Brighton. The programme is excellent throughout, and will .again be presented this evening. \

i'HUMPfcr DUMPTY." < Judging by the booking and the general interest displayed by the theatre-going public in the approaching visit of Messrs Stephenson and Linley's mammoth pantomime company, there' seems every indication, that a crowded house will greet them 01T their first appearance in the Theatre Royal next Saturday night. It is not often that an opportunity is offered to see a pantomime production at really popular prices. The company has been specially selected for this tour, and includes a «omediatt in the person of Mr Con Moreni, wlio has made a great American and English reputation in Dame parts. dances «in<l ballets, a gorgeous march past by a host of pretty and Malformed young ladies, a brilliant speciality, fascinating and irresistible music, and 'really funny comedians, are among the many features of '' Humpty Dumpty." The pantomime can only be played three nights as the season is limited. The hilarious musical extravaganza ''The .Jam of Cathay," Avill be the second attraction. A matinee will be held on "Wednesday next, specially reduced prices being made for children. The box plan is at the Dresden.
