RIFLE SHOOTING.
WORKING MEN'S CLUB
. The members of the above club fired the first round of their championship match at the- Redcliffa range on Saturday, 21st inst. - There are eight matches for the club championship, all to count. For the best handicap aggregate the best. six shoots out of eight to count. There are three prizes for each competition. The first match over 200 yds and 500 yds was fired in fine weather, but a tricky northeast wind at times beat the marksmen. Rifleman Piper was' top scorer for the day, with 43 at 200 yds and 48 at 500 yds, which was a very fine shoot under the conditions. The following were the highest scores:—
The second round in the competition will be fired next Saturday at 300 yds and 500 yds. Mr K. C. Bishop has generously presented the club with one dozen silver spoons .to be fired for in a series of "spoon competitions," The club is endeavouring to increase its membership by at least 30. ,
