FOUR PEOPLE DROWNED.
FATALITY AT ROTORUA. Press Association. ROTORUA, November 23. About 4 o'clock yesterday a boating accident occurred on Lake Rotorua, whereby four lives w r ere lost. A party | of seven was returning in a sailing boat from Mokoia Island, when a gust of wind capsized the craft. Four of the occupants sank very quickly, Herbert Webb, aged 40, a plumber, his wife, aged about 35, his daughter Phyllis, aged 13, and Moses Edmondson, aged 39, a carpenter. The other occupants clung to the boat until rescued. One, a man named Ridley, was greatly exhausted. Only Edmondson's body has been recovered so far. Webb leaves two sons, aged ten and eleven, and Edmondson leaves a widow, but no children.
