FIRE BOARD.
The Christohurch Fire Board met last evening, there being presont: Messrs A. Williams (chairman), H. R. Rushbridge, W. H. Cooper, H. P; Hopkins, W. B. McKenzie, and 'J. F, Grierson. The committee reported that consideration of a proposal to extend the fire alarm system had been held over until the Telegraph Department had communicated with the board in regard to the cost. The report was adopted.
The statement of accounts showed a credit balance of £1340 2/10. The superintendent reported on the seating acc&nmodation of the Globe Theatre, and it was decided to support
the superinten dent's recommendation that a fireman should be provided at #ll licensed buildings, irrespective of their seating capacity, or that the minimum should be fixed at 300 instead of 500, asat present.
