COUNTY COUNCIL ELECTIONS.
The following have been elected unopposed to the Cheviot Couifty Council, as the representatives of their respective ridings:—Messrs G. L. Rutherford (Hawkswood), Thomas Meikle (Hurunui), L. Maefarlane (Kaiwara), Charles Barnes (Lowry), J. S. Jackson (Parnassus), T. G. Gee (Seaward), and Thomas Stevenson (Waiau). Messrs G. Rutherford, R. Evans, H. JI. Holland, W. W. M'Rae, and T. E. L. Roberts have been elected as representatives of the Hurunui, Waitohi, Teviotdale, Waikari, and Waipara ridings respectively, of the Waipara County Council. An election for the return of one councillor for the Stonyhurst riding will take place on November 18 between Messrs N. D. Campbell G. O. Greig and A. M'A. Hyde.
