GOVERNOR'S BAY.

A recent visitor to Governor's Bay states that this popular resort is now wearing its moat attractive appearance. The Hackthorne Road tram extension has made the" bay much easier of access, as an hour's .quiet walk from the .terminus brings one to the beach or jetty. Going via Lyttelton, a coach leaves the port twiee.a day for the bay, the road running around the harbour and passing' the old-time Maori j>ah "Rapaki." There is a fine hotel at the. bay, and the comfort of week-enders and visitors, is well looked after by the host, Mr A. J. R. Isherwood. A well-stbcked store is another addition to the requirements of the bay, and visitors can rely on being well supplied with a good class of goods. From the Ocean View Hotel a, fine view of the harbour can be obtained, and the Heads can be seen in the distance. A well-kept pelasure ground is, another attraction for visitors, and this is run in conjunction with the hotel, no charge being made to -users/ Now the summer is here, no doubt visitors to Christchurch and others will, take the opportunity of travelling, either by road or sea, to enjoy a'day's relaxation at the bay. The. orchards are in fine condition, and there is every prospect of a plentiful yield.
