A special appeal on behalf of the Church Home Mission Fund was made in all Anglican Churches throughout the diocese yesterday, preachers being interchanged for the purpose. The estimated expenditure for the year is £1616, and the appeal was made in order to meet that expenditure. In making the appeal at the Cathedral yesterday morning, Bishop Julius referred to Nietzsche's philosophy of the Superman, accepted by the ruling classes of Germany, as the principle against which the world was fighting —the worship of might against right.
