.ft . ■ LYTTELTON CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. V The second annual "meeting, of the Lyttelton' Golf Club was held last evening. There was a good attendance, over which Dr J. Guthrie presided. The annual report stated that the financial position of the elub was satisfactory. Tlie year had ended with a credit balance. Reference was made to the death of Mr Frank Bradley, an enthusiastic member of the club. A pavilion had been erected to his memory, the outlay being provided by the raising of subscriptions among members of the club. During the year matches had been played with Richmond Hill, Brighton, Kaiapoi, and Rangiora Clubs, and although members had not reached the same standard of form as their opponents a decided improver ment had been shown since; last year. The thanks of the club were also due to Messrs Henderson, Stringer, Just, Brown, Hood, and Clements for donations of trophies, and the president for two stools. During the season Misses Bradley and Preston, - Mesdames E* Brown, Mazey, Curtis and Simpson, Messrs Curtis and Simpson, Stopes and Brown were successful in winning club trophies, Mr Brown carrying off three. In September last the committee had engaged a caretaker and greenkeeper. Mention was also made of the serI vices rendered by the president, Mr Orton Bradley, especially for giving the necessary permission for the erection of the pavilion, and to the club captain (Mr J. Stokes) for his interest in the game. The® club membership stood about the same as last year, 56. The balance-sheet, presented by the treasurer, Mr C. E. Just, showed, a credit on the year's working of £23 4/3. Tlie treasurer remarked that the position of the club was very satisfactory, and the raising of the subscription last year had been entirely justified. Bradley had given tlie sum of £9 towards the pavilion, and on" his motion a hearty .vote of thanks was corded the ' ladies for ' their generous donation. It decided to write to the Lyttelton Harbour Bo'ard with a view t& having a channel drecdged to the wharf at Charteris Bay. • A vote of thanks was accorded Messrs "Stokes and, Rhind for their efforts in collecting for the pavilion, which had been opened free of debt.
