The amount of unemployment m Christchurch is rapidly diminishing now that the construction of the Zig-zag and other public works are under way. The Labour Bureau reports that applications for employment are now comparatively few, and men are being sent to jobs daily. Another twelve men have been selected for Ashley Gorge, and six for Waimate. The bureau can also offer employment for two married couples, and two lads are required for milking.
