LAWN TENNIS.
THE TAI TAPU CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Tai Tapu Lawn Tenuis Club, officers were elected as follow: —Patron, the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes; president, Mr Ward; vice-presidents, Messrs T, Macartney, sen., and R. Macartney; secretary and treasurer, Mrs C. M. Suckling; committee, Miss,,. Forbes, Mrs Brake, Messrs Champion, J. Mackenzie, and C. Wallace. Opening day was fixed for October 17. . Owing to the war it was decided not to hold the annual social this year.
RICCARTON DOMAIN CLUB. The Riccarton Domain Tennis Club opened its season last Saturday afternoon.
THE GAME AT LYTTELTON. A conference was held at Lyttelton last evening between the committees of the newly-formed Te Whaka Tennis Club and the Lyttelton Methodist Club. An arrangement was come to that the Te Whaka Club should have the use of the tennis courts at West Lyttelton on Saturday next, on the occasion of their opening function, and thereafter the two clubs will share the courts conjointly, each having alternate days. The Te Whaka Club will therefore formally open their season at three o'clock next Saturday afternoon.
