BOMBARDMENT IN BELGIUM.
/INVADERS SUFFER LOSSES. BRUTAL TREATMENT OF CIVILIANS. ANTWERP, September 30. The Germans occupied Malines and jbombarded the forts at Waelen, Wav-re, and Saint Catherine without result. ' The forts replied, and the bombard* firjent ceased. The forts inflicted serious losses on Germans advancing near Dendae, and the Germans withdrew. OSTEND, September 29. . 'Before being expelled from Alost the " Germans arrested 26 civilians , and fbrced them to sign a confession that she inhabitants had fired on Germans*, *** During the fighting the Germans eompelled" 40 civilians to walk ahead of the troops, and several were killed by the Belgians.
