ALLIES FIGHTING ON THE LEFT. DAY AND\NIGHT ATTACKS. V • DEFEATED. The High Commissioner reports:— LONDON, September 29. Official: There is. practically no change in the situation. The' Allies on the- left have had. heavy fighting, but are well holding their own. PARIS, September 29. A communique says:— '•' We have repulsed several day and night attacks on our left, north of the Sonune and the Oise. , . . <'The situation north of the Aisne is unchanged. "In the centre and in the east of the Argoiihe the ' enemy has confined his operations to heavy cannonades. "Between the Argonne and the Meuse we have progressed slightly againststrongly prepared positions. ... .'t There is no change in the e Wo3vre and on.the right wing."
