* NEW VEIN STRU€K. Pr(ft.i Association. , NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 25.' The Taranaki Oil Wells report speaks encouragingly of the operations at No. 2 well, which has been deepened and re-cased and is now very active. A new gas vein was struck this morning at 2750 ft, and, after two hours, began to force oil to the surface. It is still violent, aud the oil is improving. The rotary bore, and No. 3 also, contirfue to yield well.
