BAPTIST UNION.
The annual meeting of the Canterbury Auxiliary of the New Zealand Bap"tist Union was held at the Sydenham Baptist Church yesterday, the business session being presided over by
the Rev. T. A. Williams. Delegates were present from Ashburton, Greendale, Kaiapoi, Rangiora, East Oxford, Lincoln, Linwood, Sydenham, Spreydon, Riecarton, and Oxford Terrace. It was unanimously decided that all Canterbury Baptist Churches be urged to make a generous offering to the Poor of Great Britain and Belgium Re-lief-Fund on October 4. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. A. Efford; vice-president, Mr W. Shipley; secretary, Mr W. T. Jones; treasurer, Mr C. Dixon; missionary treasurer, Mr A. F. Carey; auditors, Messrs Mander. and H. C. Jones; committee, Revs. J. Laird, J. J. North, 11. B. Hughes, Messrs Goring, E. J. Jones, King, Chivers, Holland, Sheate, and Adams. A public meeting was held :'n the evening, when addresses Avere delivered by the Rev. G. G. Cule, of Greendale and Pastor Goring, of Riecarton.
