HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.
PATRIOTIC SPRING SHOW. •The entries for the Canterbury Horticultural Society's Spring show closed! last night, and were equal to the best yet received, over 100 ft more of tabling; being required than last year. For thefirst time entries have been received, from the North Island, and these should, lend additional interest to the show. Thef patriotic stall will provide plenty of scope for those who want first-class-plants and blooms. By purchasing theseat the stall they will do good to the- ! poor of Great Britain, Ireland, and gium. Lovers of daffodils and other spring flowers should not miss the opportunity of seeing this show. The show opens to-morrow, and extends over Thursday. .The committee will be pleased • to receive gifts of pot plants, and cut blooms, which may be left at the Art Gallery to-day or on Show Day after 9 a.m.
