'' STAR'» COMMERCIAL MOTORS. We have pleasure in announcing the arrival of a sample 15-h:p. "STAR" chassis. This represents the latest and most approved constructional details for commercial vehicles, executed in materials the long-maintained quality of which .has caused the "Star" cars to be accepted without question in all parts of the world. The '' Star'" commercial cars arc absolutely distinct from their pleasure cars. Too many firms have in the past conceived the idea of erecting a commercial body on a stock chassis, and ofc' announcing same as a commercial vehicle. This policy was doomed before it was fairly launched, owing to the inability of the engine and chassis, however excellent, to withstand the greatly increased* loads and frequent hard handling. The engine, nominally of 15-h.p., is of a comparatively slowrunning type with very low compression. The valves,, inlet and exhaust ports are large and free, and the lubrication system is very sound, ensuring an easy working engine giving full efficiency and long life. The drive runs through a large leather-faced cone clutch to a gear box of truly adequate strength (four speeds forward and reverse gear), thence by bevel drive to live axle. "Timken" bearings throughout rear axle and hubs. The chassis is intended for loads of locwt to 1 ton, these being weights well inside its capacity over any class of road. The wheels are fitted with Dunlop tyres 815 x 105. The price of this chassis, inclusive of tools, horn, spare wheel, complete set of different ratios for gear-box, and a quantity of useful sundries, is ii'.'AW net, and this quotation compares more than favourably with any other high-grade machine on the market. We shall be glad to hear from any person or firm interested, and all enquiries will receive the same attention which is given to our motor cycle business* ...
