FEDERAL ELECTIONS AND THE WAR.
This is not the time for uprooting foundations and recasting society. Let sueh schemes be "brought up again when the Empire has fully vindicated before the world its right to exist as an Empire. The people are extremely fortunate in having a Government composed of strong, calm, capable, highly experienced men. However the war may result, a time of severe trial is before Australia, because, in addition to other troubles, a serious drought is threatening a large part of the continent. It, would be a manifestation of rashness and folly to do anything else than reinforce the .Liberal Government at the coming election. —' '.Australasian.''
