A DANGEROUS MAN.
A REVOLVER EPISODE. Press Association. AUCKLAND, September 11. Ernest Henry Mackay, aged .26, a carter bj occupation, was charged at the Police Court with the attempted murder of his father-in-law, Augustus Lafette, by firing a' revolver at him. There had been trouble between Mackay and his wife, and the latter recently sought a separation order on the ground of cruelty. That application was adjourned, the magistrate advising Mackay in the meantime to keep away from his wife.' Mrs Mackay went to live with her parents, and Mackay called and asked to be allowed to see his wife. Mrs Lafette refused, and shut the door immediately. They heard a revolver shot, and Mr Lafette went out intending to send Mackay away. He alleges that Mackay pointed a revolver at him and fired, the bullet going within inches of his head. Accused was remanded to Friday, bail being refused.
