MORE REGIMENTS OFFERED. LOYALTY OF NEWFOUNDLAND. (Received September 4, 10 a.m.) OTTAWA, September 2. The Government has considered the cancellation of German patents in Canada. Colonel Hughes, Minister of Militia, announces that a resident of a southern State of America has offered to raise a regiment of a thousand for service witlHie Canadian Contingent.
ST. JOHNS (Newfoundland), Sept. 3. Parliament lias passed war measures, including the provision of a regiment for Imperial service. The Opposition is heartily concurring.
