A meeting of the Liverpool Women's Fund Committee was held at the Council Chambers this morning, the Mayor (Mr H. Holland) presiding. The object of the meeting was to consider the advisability of amalgamating with the Poor of England Committee. Mr Holland pointed out that there was axi alternative suggestion that the Liverpool Committee should continue to work for those New Zealanders who would be sufferers through the war. Although deeply sympathetic with other-organisa-tions engaged in collecting funds,. Mr Holland deemed it advisable that the Liverpool pommittee should continue in the work they had begun. Mr Gilby drew attention to the overlapping that was takin-g place in connection with the various war funds, and suggested the, setting up of an Advisory Council, to whom would be submitted the question of the disposal of funds. It was finally decided'that the Liverpool Committee should retain' its own individuality- as a body, this course leaving individual members to join any of the other committees. Mrs Holland read a letter from the Y.W.C.A. Sunbeam Club, offering to do any sewing that might be necessary, providing the material was supplied, by the committee. It was decided to accept the offer, and hand over to them the remnants left over from the shirtmaking. It was stated by one member that a large number of shirts had \ been left over from the Boer War supply, and that these garments Avere now lying in the Lyttelton sheds. Two members were deputed to discover the precise whereabouts of these shirts, and to see if anything could be done to procure them for the Expeditionary Force. Up to the present .500 Balaclava helmets have been made, and the members Avere asked to continue making these articles. An offer was received from Mr Walter Hill for the use of his Lichfield Street rooms for any length of time they might" be required. WAIMAIRI COLLECTIONS.
