The Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes arrived in town from Wellington this morning, and will return on Monday night. Dr Morrison, Political Adviser to the President of China, has left London' for Peking. He is travelling via Canada.

General Sir A. Godley arriA'ed in Christ-church from "the South last .night, and Avill leave for Wellington this evening.

Mr A. "E. Sylces, New Plymouth, and Mr Arnold B. Williams, of Wellington, arrived in town this morning, and are staying at the Clarendon Hotel.

Sir Joseph Ward is expected to arrive fti toAvji this evening, and will speak at the military service in Addington Park to-morrow afternoon.

Mr Claude Slach, and Mr W. CroAV, private secretary to the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, arrived from this morning, and are staying at the . United Service' Hotel.

The vacancies in the Catholic Archdiocese of Wellington, caused by the appointment of three - chaplains to the Expeditionary Forces, have been filled. The Rev.
