PATRIOTIC DAY.
To the Editor of TIIE SUN. Sir, —I notice that some drapers are advertising their intention of keeping open all day on Monday (Patriotic Day). This action certainly does not show any patriotic feeling, and the only conclusion I can conic to is that they must be.pro-Germans—l am, etc., TRUE BRITISH. [Our correspondent's conclusions are quite unwarranted. He should remember that these concerns are all more or less affected by the war, but they are keej i«g hundreds of employees'on their pay rolls, and are endeavouring to carry on their business as usual. Any one of them could save a great deal of money by dispensing with hands, but they are refraining from doing so, and should get credit for it accordingly.—Ed., THJ3 SUN.]
