THE PRICE OF BEEF.
TO BE RAISED. , Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 20. The Master Butchers' Association has been informed that the wholesalers intend raising the price of beef to 31/per 3001b, which is equivalent to a 10 per cent, increase, on Monday next. The advance will be handed on to the consumers. A meeting of the master butchers is to be held on Saturday night to urge the Government to prohibit the exportation of beef.
