SUPPLY OF HORSES.

APPEAL TO FARMEBS. At the meeting of the A. and P. Committee yesterday Mr .]., D. Hall suggested that the association might help the military authorities in securing horses for the Expeditionary Force. He understood that 70 horses were still required. He moved that other A. and P. Associations be circularised on the matter, and that members of the association be asked to send in horses. He pointed out that there was a serious shortage, and'that the Defence Department was perfectly willing to buy suitable remounts. Military saddles were also wanted.

The President (Mr Parkinson) said that in his districts horses half-an-inch short were turned down. Mr Hall said that if these horses were 'brought along now they would not be turned down. All red tape restrictions j were swept aside ou an occasion like this. I After-some discussion, the motion was ' passed, and farmers having suitable horses were requested J*> communicate with Colonel Bond or Major Overton, at the camp.
