NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council held on the 14 th day. of August, 1914, the following Resolution was passed, and will be SUBMITTED for CONFIRMATION at a Special Meeting of the Council to be held on the 11th day of SEPTEMBER, 1914, at 7.30 p.m., at the Council Chambers, Riccarton Road: "That in exercise c,i* the power conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its Amendments, the Council do alter the name of Peverel, Paton, and Sackville Streets to Peverel Street; and Brandon, Prince, and St. David Streets be altered to Brandon Street." It is hereby publicly notified th^fe the Riccarton Borough Council desire to Obtain the Consent of the Ratepayers of that part of the Borough of Riccarton, described in the Schedule hereto, to RAISE A LOAN of £5005 12/6, to be expended on the following Works, viz., the Construction of Concrete Channelling, Culverts, Asphah/frig, and Re-grading FootBaj&S on the various Roads within the said District. And such Borough Council has caused to be prepared a Special Roll of, the Ratepayers ''in tliat P art of tne district. Now notice is hereby given that such Special Roll has been deposited for public inspection during the period of Seven Days from the date hereof, and during office hours, at the Office of the Riccarton Borough Council, Riccarton. Any person desiring to Object to his name behig j included in the said Roll on the grounds that his property will not be benefited by the expenditure of the proposed Loan or on the ground that his property is wholly or partially omitted from the Roll, must lodge with the Riccarton Borough Council an Objection to that effect not later than Seven Days after the expiration of the said Seven Days to be heard and. determined as by the said Act provided. The proposed, Security for such proposed Loan is a Special Rate of Two and One-ninth of a Penny in the Pound on the Unimproved Value of all Rateable Property in the abov-j area. The said Loan shall have a currency of Thirty-six and a-half Years (365), and bear interest at a rate not exceeding £5 per centum per annum. . It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan, the lifterest for the first year, and the preliminary expenses in connection with the schemes for which the Loan is proposed to be raised. SCHEDULE OF LOAN AREA. All that area of land situate in the Borough of Riccarton being Rural Sections 9, 113, 118, and part 145, commencing at a point at the corner of Blenheim Road and Division Street, then due east, to 7 chains beyond Clarence Road, and then south to Foster's Road, thence east to 1 chain beyond Picton Avenue, thence 13 chains north, thence east to the west side of the northern railway line, thence south to Lowe Street, thence east to West Belt, thence south to Moorhouse Avenue, thence east to Lincoln 'Road, thence south-west to the east side of the Show Grounds, thence north to Semple Street, thence west to the boundary line, thence north to the starting point. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Riccarton Borough Council, held on the 14lh day of Augusv, 1914, a Resolution was passed that the Council in exercise o£ the power conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and its Amendments to make a By-law by Special Order, do MAKE THE FOLLOWING BY-LAW, namely, a By-law whereof the object or purport is as follows: — Part I. —With respect to the Erection of Dwelling-houses regulating the frontage and area of land upon which Dwelling-houses can be erected. Part II. —Relating to the setting back of the building line regulating the Erection of New Buildings on narrow streets. And notice is hereby further given that the aforesaid Resolution will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order to a Special Meeting of the Council to be held at the Borough Council Office on FRIDAY, the 11th day 'of SEPTEMBER, 1914, at the hour of 7.30 o'clock in the evening, and, further, that a Copy of the proposed By-law is deposited at the Office of the Council, Riccarton Road, and is open (o the inspection of the public during office hours from the date hereof until the said Resolution is confirmed.
