The Acting Consul for Belgium, Mr Cyrii Ward, has received official advice of the mobilisation of the Belgian Army and notification that all Belgian reser- • vists resident in the district? of Canterbury, Marlborough, Westland, and Nelson, should immediately report for service at the Belgian Consulate, Here- - ford Street, Christchureh. The general manager of the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts, Wellington, has written to the Tourist Bureau in the city as follows: —I shall be glad if you will kindly inform intending patients that the Department's Sanatorium at Hanmer Springs has been destroyed by fire. Patients will be able to make their own arrangements for private board and residence until such time as the sanatorium is reopened.
