ADDINGTON MARKET.

THE CONCLUSION. : The double market at Addington yesterday was not concluded until 7 p.m. .' It was this time before the last of the i fat sheep were offered. There was by far the biggest sale of the season in this department, the entry being much more than the fat sheep yards could accommodate. There was also a particularly heavy yarding at the previous sale, and notwithstanding the fact that many butchers purchased much more than a week's supplies then, prices yesterday were quite satisfactory, and only an odd pen or so Were turned out unsold. Prices, compared with last week, depreciated to some extent, but this was in sympathy with the fall in the price of skins. A drop of close upon 50 per cent, was experienced at the skin sale on Tuesday, and naturally butchers - could not pay within 2/6 or 3/- of what they have been doing. * - The feature of the sale was the num- . bcr of excellent quality sheep sent, for- ■ ward. Some of the races had the aspect of a show jard with the show cards -. won at various A. and P. Shows. Mr ' F. -Bull, of Waddington, sent forward some really magnificent wethers, mostly " Bomney.-Shropshires, with an odd pen *©f pure Shropshires. Speculation was '. ?ife as to whether the record established last year for the tops of this ; draft —£14 10/- per head—would be J equalled. The bidding opened at £5, "' and in pound rises was taken to £ls. ,4t this they were secured for Dixon , Bros., making a new record for the / yards for fat wethers. The line of 17 . Aethers averaged £6 13/- per head. The "; irange of values was as follows: — Special show wethers to £ls. '' Extra ? prime :wethers to 42/-.
