SUPREME COURT.
CRIMINAL SESSIONS. A CHARGE FAILS. 'After THE SUN went to press yesterday the criminal sittings of the Supremo Court were continued, his Honour Mr-Justice Deumston presiding. Mr S. G. Raymond, K.C., prosecuted on behalf of the Crown. Harry Pohio, a nineteen-year-old Maori, was charged with carnally knowing a girl- (a half-caste) under the age of 16.years. Mr A. T. Donnelly appeared for the accused, who pleaded not guilty. After a short retirement the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and the accused was discharged. (Proceeding.)
