LEVEL CROSSINGS.
A BY-LAW VOID. Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 5. The Appeal Court, in giving judgment in the case, Broad v. King, stated: —- "In our opinion the by-law that requires every person who drives a vehicle or animal over a level crossing, to proceed at a walking pace, is void."

One game of the semi-final of the ping pong championship was played, and resulted in Voss defeating Brown by 31 to 20. The Sun want advertisements will bring the help or business desired. McCombs adds that the Minister has telegraphed to the Public Works and Labour Department branches at Christchurch, instructing them to find employment for all men, married or single, who are out of work, married men tb have priority.
