RISE IN PRICES.

QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT. [Prom our own Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, August 4. In the House to-day, Mr C. A. Wilkinson (Egmont) asked the Government whether legislation will be introduced to prevent the public from being unduly exploited by artificial increases in che prices of foodstuffs and commodities during the present period of unrest. In a note to his question Mr Wilkinson adds that it is reported that Hour has been increased in price by £2 per ton, which will cause a rise in the price of bread, and that this increase at the present stage appears quite unwarranted and uufair.
