BOYS' GORDON HALL.
ANNUAL EXPOSITION.
The annual exposition in connection with the Boys' Gordon Hall was opened •in the Y.M.C.A. buildings last evening. In opening the function, Mr J. Hall (president) regretted there were not more exhibits, but spoke enthusiastically as to their quality. Mr A. Jameson, national secretary of the Young Men 's Christian Association, urged the lads present to adopt hobbies, especially fretwork and amateur printing. The idea of thet exposition is to en-
■courage initiative, and some excellent examples of woodworking, painting, and map drawing are shown; the models exhibited are also specially good. The judges who made the awards were:—Painting,- Mr Herdman Smith, School of Art; Architectural and Mechanical Drawing, Mr E. C. Farr; Philately, Messrs W. Cousins and A. L. Mabley; Carpentery, Carving and Joinery, Mr Goodstein; Metal Work, Mr W. Garsides. The awards made were as follow :■—■ Architectural ' Drawing.-—-Senior: C. Hanham 1, R. wV Owen 2. Junior: S. A.
