BLAZE AT HANMER.
GOVERNMENT SPA DESTROYED. NO LIVES LOST. A. destructive fire occurred *at Hanmer early this morning. The Government Spa, which is situated near the Springs, was so badly damaged by fire as to be practically destroyed. The Spa, which is really an hotel without a license, was a large wooden building, with accommodation for over thirty guests. The medical officer in charge was Dr Roe. The fire occurred shortly before daybreak, and at 7 a.m. only the ruins were standing.
