THE BLUFF FIRE.
THE INQUEST. Press Association. IN V EECARGILL. July :tO. The inquest into the Bluff fire was opened at the port tliis afternoon, before Mr Hutchison, S.M., who viewed the charred and powdered bones representing the remains of the three victims. The enquiry was adjourned until Saturday 'morning. The remains of a man believed to be T. T. Brook, who was unaccounted for yesterday, were found to-day by the police amongst the debris. The position of the remains supports the theory that the deceased left his room and made his way along the upstairs corridor, and was making for either the staircase or a fireescape when he was overcome by the .smoke. He probably fell on the floor, whic-h' afterwards caved in, the remains ultimately becoming buried under the ruius on the ground floor.
