It made fastest time of the day and record for the hill." This is the fourth successive win in the North Island in four competitions, a side car trial, two hill climbs, and a race on the fiat. Be it noted that m» other :U h.p. motor cycle got anywhere near the Matchless in the Wellington hill climb, the next fastest machines being of foreign make, with engines more than twice as large as the Matchless.
