MASCOTS FOR SHACKLETON.
NAMING THE HIGHEST PEAK,
"Times" and* "Sydney Sun" Services. (Received July 23, 8 a.m.) LONDON, July 22,
Sir Ernest Shaekleton has been presented with two golliwog mascots which he is taking to the Antarctic.
He said he would name the highest peak he discovered '' Lucas Tooth.'' [Sir Robert Lucas-Tooth, F.R.G.S., first baronet of the line, created in 1906, is the son of the late Edwin Tooth, of Cranbrook, Kent. . Born on December 7, 1844, he in 1873 married Helen, daughter of Frederick Tooth, of Godericli, Sydney. He was educated at Eton, 'returning to New South Wales at the end of 1863. He contested East Sydney in 1879, being defeated, and sat for Monaro in New South Wales for two Parliaments. He was appointed Commissioner for Canada and was on the Council for New South Wales Exhibition in 1879. Returning to England in 1889, he contested the Loughborough Division of .Leicestershire for the House of Commons in 1895. He is chairman of the Bank of New South •Wales, -London, and a member of the committee of management of King Edward 's Horse —Overseas Dominion Regiment.]
