PUBLIC NOTICES. JJICCABTON BOROUGH COUNCIL. NOTICE OP INTENTION TO MAKE RATES. GENERAL RATE, HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE INSTITUTIONS RATE, DRAINAGE liOARD RATES, AND UNIFORM ANNUAL FEE. ■Under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, tho Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907, the Rating Act, 1908, and the Acts Amending the same respectively. IT IS HEREBY PUBLICLY NOTIFIED that it is the intention of - the lliccarton Borough Council, at a SPECIAL MEETING, to be held at 7.30 o'clock p.m. on the 14tli day of AUGUST, 1914,, in the Riccarton Borough Council Office, Riccarton Road, to MAKE and LEVY the folowing RATES upon the Rateable Valuation of all Rateable Properties appearing in the Valuation Roll now in force in the respective Borough of Riccarton for the period commencing on the Ist day of APRIL, 1914, and ending on the 01st day Of MARCH, 1915: —

1. A General Rate of Twopence and Onefifth <2 1-5) of a Penny in the Pound On • the ' Unimproved" Value. J . 2. A Kate of Eleven-twentieths (11-20) of a Penny in the Pound on the Unimproved Value, made under the provisions Of Section 41 of the Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act; 1908, and the Rating . Act, 1908, and its Amendments, such Rate being required to meet the Contributions • payable by the Riccarton Borough Council . to the North Canterbury Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. 3. A Rate of Twopence and One-fortieth (2 1-40) of a Penny in the Pound on. the Unimproved Value of all Rateable Property v in that portion of the Borough of Riccarton lying within the District of the Sewerage Area (as defined in the Second Schedule of the Christchurcli District Drairxage* Aet Amendment Act,' 1907), and as added to by resolutions of the Board bearing date the 16th day of February, 1909, and the 15th da_y of February, 1910, the 15th day of March, 1910, and the 20th day of January, 1914, made under the provisions of the Rating Act, 1908, and its Amendments, and of Section 45 of the Christchurch District Drainage Act, 1907; also a General Rate of One Penny and Oneeighth (1 1-8) in the Pound on the proved Value of all Rateable Property in that portion of the Borough of Riccarton lying within the District of Rural Riccarton as defined by the Christchurcli Drainage Boai-d by Resolution bearing date on the 12th day of February, 1889, made under the provisions of the Rating. Act, 1908, and its Amendments, and of Section ■ 45 of the Christchurcli District Drainage Act, 1907. 4. A Uniform Annual Fee of 15/- in respect of Pans contained in Closelte and Privies, under Section 89 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, upon such Properties in the Borough of Riccarton as have a House or Houses erected thereon. It is Hereby Further Publicly Notified that the Whole: of the before-mentipned Rates will, be PAYABLE at the Office of the Riccarton "Borough Council, situate Riccarton Road, Riccarton, in ONE SUM, on the 17th day of AUGUST, 1914, and that the RATEBOOK! containing particulars of all the above Rates is OPEN for' INSPECTION without fee by all Ratepayers during office hours at the Office of the Riccarton Borough Council, situate Riccarton Road, Riccarton.
