SCOTTISH MINERS' TROUBLE.

LONDON, July 22
The Winers' Conference at Southport authorised a Scottish strike if wages are reduced, and approved of the calling of a, conference to consider a national stoppage if the strike begins. , Subsequently the Scottish executive decided to abandon the four-day week proposal. [The Scottish coal mine owners re cently decided on a reduction of wages, and the men replied '-With a decision to demand a four-day week, the ruling rate oj' wages to be maintained. Then the owners threatened a, national lock-out if the four-day week proposal was insisted upon.]
