COMPENSATION SOUGHT.
FOR LAND TAKEN.
CASE AGAINST THE CROWN. After THE SUN went to press yesterday the hearing was continued of the compensation case in which William Nicholls is claiming £775 from the Minister of Railways in respect to threequarters of an acre of land taken opposite the Belfast Railway Station for railway purposes. His Honour Mr Justice Sim presided, and with him as assessors were Messrs A. Boyle and W. J. Hopkins. Mr G. T. Weston appeared for the claimant and Mr H. J. Beawick for the respondent.
The case for the claimant was concluded yesterday afternoon, and evidence on behalf of the defendant, commenced yesterday, was continued to-day. William "Burgess", traction engine proprietor, said- the space of land now left to claimant was ample in which to work a traction engine with three trailers. "After hearing • further - evidence, the court reserved decision, his Honour stating that judgment would be given at 10 a.m. to-morrow. \
