NOTES. If is announced that the Arawa will leav« Lyttelton for Wellington on August 6, and. will sail finally from the latter port for London on August 13. On Tuesday next. July 28, tlie Union Company's training steamer Aparima is to sail from Calcutta for New Zealand ports, via Sittgapore and Samarang. Captain Stott, marine superintendent at Wellington for the Union Company, who has been on a visit to Westport a.nd Lyttelton in connection with the Kauri, has resumed duty at Wellington. Mr Spiers, purser of the Tarawrra, .who lias been on holiday, haa rejoined his ship. Mr Wood, acting purser of the Arahura, is proceeding to Dunedin by the Moerakt to receive instructions. Capt. G. S. I>oorly has taken command of the Komata in place of Captain .1. G. Watson, who went away in the Kanua as extra officer. The Ilimitangi is • to arrive on Saturday morning from Timaru, and leaves the same evening for Wellington. The Wakatu will arrive from Kaikoura on Saturday night, and on Monday on tfaa return trio.
