APPRECIATIVE RESOLUTION. Press Association. HOKITIKA, July 19. The Town Clerk has forwarded the following telegram to the 'Minister of Public Works, Wellington, regarding the sea encroachment: —"In order to correct an erroneous impression, caused by mistaken adverse criticism published, the Borough Council on Friday night passed a resolution of appreciation of your efforts and recognising that your engineers are doing all that can be done to protect the town. — (Signed) Perry, Mayor.'' Speaking to the resolution, the Mayor deprecated the statements that had appeared in certain newspapers in an attempt to make political capital.
