OPEN-AIR HOME.

TO HELP THE CHILDREN. COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS' SCHEME. Mr S. A. Orchard presided over the general committee of the Commercial Travellers' Association, held on Saturday night, to organise a campaign in aid of funds for the Children's Open-air Home. There was a targe attendance. Reports were handed in by the various sub-committees appointed to arrange details of the procession. The Costumes Sub-committee asked that all those possessing costumes should acquaint the committee, so that an estimate of the number required might be made. The Eoute Committee reported that it had drawn upH list of stands in various parts of the city. It recommended that the route of the procession, leaving at 9.30 a.m., should be as follows: —Leave Latimer Square, round Madras Street, up Casliel Street, to Manchester Street, and to Armagh Street, then to the left down Colombo Street, passing the Cathedral, thence down High Street, passing Clock Tower to A. J. White's corner, up Tuam Street, turn to right up Manchester Street to Queen's Hotel corner, turn 'to left up Cash el Street to Oxford Terrace, along Oxford Terrace, then down Worcester Street to Cathedral Square, dispersing at the back of the tram shelter. In connection with the collection it was recommended that exemption badges should be issued to those contributing a minimum of one shilling. ... The report was adopted. At an' estimate 200 persons , will take part in the procession. The Musical Committee reported that a programme had been arranged for fifteen items, occupying an hour and a half, and halts would be made to give short performancesv About a dozen more volunteers were needed for the band to bring its strength up to twenty members. An offer to supply 10T)0 bags of sweets was accepted. ATHLETES' CLUB ENTERTAINMENT. The programme arranged by the Cliristchurch Athletes' Club for the entertainment which it will hold in the Choral Hall next Saturday evening, in aid of the Open-Air Home Fund, is particularly attractive. It includes five boxing contests —bantam-weight, featherweight, light-weight, welter-weight, and middle-weight—and two cateh-as-catch-can wrestling matches —bantam-weight and light-weight. Dr Blaekmore and Mr C. T. Aschman are visiting Amberley to-morrow evening, in the interests of the' fund. On Wednesday afternoon Dr Blaekmore and the Mayor will visit Waikari. FURTHER CONTRIBUTIONS.
