NEW MISSION HALL.
LAYING THE FOUNDATION STONE. On Saturday the foundation stone of a Mission Hall to be erected at the corner of Beckenham and Fisher Streets, Sydenham, was laid by hi& Lordship Bishop Julius in the presence of a fair number of people. The stone-laying wis preceded by a short religious ceremony, commencing with the, hymn "All People who on Earth do Dwell,'' after which his Lordship declared the stone well and truly laid. He gave a short address, stating that although the hall of which the foundation stone had been laid that day was a small one> it was not to be despised on that account. Everything had to have a beginning, and he prophesied that it was but the beginning of a noble edifice that should one day be erected on the same spot. 'The..Be v. H. Leach spoke briefly, thanking the people for their attendance. The service closed with an appropriate hymn, during which' a collection was takeai up to liquidate the small deficit in the building fund. " " The building, which will be completed in about three months' time, will be used for church, missions, and Sunday School, and will be about 47 feet long by 23 feet wide.
