ANOTHER PURSE.
FOR CARPENTIER-SMITH FIGHT.
WHAT THE FILM SHOWED. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. LONDON, July 17. , Mr Eugene Cori, referee in the Car-pentier-Smith fight, states that he did not see Descamps, Carpentier's massager, in the ring, otherwise he would have disqualified Carpentier. Burge, the promoter, offered a similar purse for another fight. Descamps is prepared to accept the .challenge after Carpentier meets " Bombardier" Wells if Carpentier is successful. Kinematograph films indicate that Smith realised his mistake in the act of delivering the blow, his pose being that of a man drawing back at the last moruent.
