MONEY FROM AMERICA. By Cable. —Press Association. —Copyright. (Received July 18, 1.10 p.m.) LONDON, July 17. The Irish League, America, has cabled to Mr Redmond that £20,000 has been subscribed. . Two Cabinet meetings were held today, making the fourth for the week. The business was concerned chiefly with the Irish question. There is an optimistic feeling in the lobbies owing to the important conferences regarding the Amending Bill. ATMOSPHERE MAKES FOB SETTLEMENT. LONDON, July 17. The "Westminster Gazette" says there are good reasons for believing that negotiations for the settlement of Ulster are taking what may fairly be called a normal course. The ' ( Birmingham Post" declares itself convinced that' the present atmosphere makes for settlement.
