The following forecast was issued by the Government Meteorologist, Wellington, at 9 a.m., to-day for the ensuing 24 hours: — The indications are for variable and strong breezes, 'but south-easterly strong to gale prevailing shortly. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, cold rain probable, and snow on the high country. Barometer unsteady, but rising shortly.
