CHRISTCHURCH LIEDERTAFEL.
ANNUAL MEETING. __ • The Christchurch Liedertafel held its twenty-ninth annual meeting last night, Mr C. D. Morris presiding over a good attendance. The annual report reviewed the year \s work, stating that 30 practice meetings had been held and had been well attended. Thanks were given to Mr A. Worseley, honorary accompanist, for his services, and to Messrs Hollow and Knox for having taken up the secretary's work during his absence, also to the honorary auditor, Mr W. M. Ollivier. The balance-sheet showed that, including the amount brought forward, the receipts amounted to £267 2/6. The expenditure amounted to £240 1/2, leaving a balance of £24 1/10. The assets were valued at £64 12/2, *and there were no liabilities. The Chairman, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said the change of the weekly half-holiday from Thursday to Saturday had decreased the membership and the income of the society. He hoped there would be an improvement in the coming year. Judging it from a musical point of view, the year had been very successful. The adoption of the report and bal-ance-sheet was carried. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow: —President, Mr C. D. Morris; hon. conductor, Dr J. C. Bradshaw; secretary, treasurer, and librarian, Mr F. N. Meadows; hon. auditor, Mr W. M. Ollivier; committee, Messrs A. Freeman, A. Millar, R. Vincent, F. Guernsey, and Dr L. Manning. On behalf of the members, Mr A. Millar presented a set of pipes to the secretary, Mr B. S. Knoxy and to the treasurer, Mr E. Hollow, in rtjcognitiou of the services rendered during the visit of members to the Auckland Exhibition. Votes of thanks to the officers of the past year were passed, and on the conclusion of business the members were entertained at supper.
