ADDINGTON MARKET.

THE CONCLUSION. fat sheep. The most striking feature of the fat sheep sale yesterday was the big entry of wethers. The bulk of the eleven races was wethers, and mostly of a good class. Although to-day is the last day on which sheep are to be-received at the freezing works, the exporters were as active as ever, and one buyer secured over a thousand at prices that would average out at a few pence below 25/-. per head. Taken all through the sale; was about on a par with last week's rates, though a slight slackening was' noticeable when the last few pens were offered. Were it not for the unusually high prices ruling for skins the prices paid for fat sheep for the past few weeks would have been ruinous to retailers. As it is they have announced a substantial rise in the price to the local consumer. Values ruled as follow:

Wethers, 24/- to 28/-. Extra, to 38/6. Medium wethers, 21/.- to 23/6. Inferior wethers, 18/11 to 20/6. Merino wethers, tp 22/6. Prime ewes, 20/- to 23/10. Medium, 18/6 to 19/9. Aged and light, 11/9 to 17/-. The average price per lb was as follows: — Prime wethers, 4Ad,to 4|d per lb.
