The Mines Department report for 1913 shows that, .the gold yield was 434,932 ounces, valued sit £1,847,472, a decrease- of 44.198 ounces as compared with the previous year. The coal yield was 5915,912 tons, valued at £274,371, an increase of 4470 tons.
